Snaggletooth702 nv someone did a renovation at a rental property and moved the kitchen sink.
Drain pipe too high for garbage disposal.
Now this is something that i usually get a lot of different types of pipe for you look and see basically what you need then buy couple of extras.
Before you do any work on a dishwasher or garbage disposal including the installation of the dishwasher drain.
Now we are going to hook up the waste pipes coming off the disposal.
Get a shallower sink.
If its too high and you do rig something up water will sit in.
Crack open the wall and somehow lower the drain if possible.
Using our configuration i am afraid the waste drain is 2 too high.
The main drain pipe and the dishwasher drain pipe.
After getting the new disposal attached to the sink i saw why the sink is too low the wall drain is too high it s a good 2 inches higher than the disposal.
Garbage disposal is lower than main drain.
Now the water outlet on the garbage disposal is several inches lower than the drain itself and water is sitting in the garbage disposal.
I am owner of built wise construction in orlando florida and today we are going to go over how to install a garbage disposal.
The problem is our kitchen sink drain center is 19 1 2 above the floor.
However when they moved the drain they made it too high.
Our garbage disposal is 6 1 2 from flange to center.
Doing the math we see that 34 1 2 minus 11 minus 6 1 2 equals 17 inches.
The main drain pipe will always be connected but depending on your needs the dishwasher drain pipe may or may not be needed.
Our cabinets are 34 1 2 tall.
We have a 10 deep sink practically 11 to the drain hole.
So our garbage disposal will have a drain 17 above the floor.
Connect a strait discharge from the disposal to a trap and use a wye to connect the traps to the drain line.
