Draining an above ground pool can be a little tricky but it s sometimes necessary because of filter changes needing to replace the pool liner or fixing a chemical imbalance in the water.
Locate the drain valve on the outside of the pool.
I personally recommend using a combination of the two because siphoning is pretty fast but a pump will help remove that last foot or so of water that the siphon can t quite get to.
